Stop Settling For Samples

How much do you want God? How much do you need Him in your life? You should always want God as though your life depends on Him because – reality check! – it does! He controls our every breath. He holds our lives in His hands. So, to answer that second question – “How much do you need Him in your life?”: the answer is DESPERATELY.

There is nothing we can do without God. He knows every step, every thought, our next breath. We need Him more than anything else because, without Him, we are dead.

“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” John 15:5

Do you remember when you were a child, going to the grocery store or supermarket with your parents? Certain stores had stations set up where you could taste one of their sample products to see if you like it. The samples were really small proportions, because they wanted to see if you like it. Most of the time, I enjoyed it and always wanted more. I would never think about going to buy the actual product, because the samples were free and accessible. I began to settle for the samples. This analogy is parallel to the mindsets of many Christians concerning God. They like having a little bit of God here and there; tasting His Glory, but never wanting Him. The term “Referee Christian” comes to mind when I think of this situation. Referee Christians pull God out of their pocket when something goes wrong or when they need something…
