God’s Not Dead, So Why Are His People?: Learning to Roar

Hey guys!

So, I know it’s not technically Worship Wednesday anymore on the east coast, but I was trucking my way through a major assignment that was due at midnight, but I’m thanking God that I got it done and that I’m feeling good about it! And so, I thought I’d post this song because it song gets me hype! And it’s not just because of the tempo, either!

I mean… the chorus:

“My God’s not dead! He is surely alive,
and He’s living on the inside roaring like a lion!”

He’s not dead, y’all! They put him on a cross, spilled his blood, and put him in the grave… but he rose again, and he’s living in us – His children! How can you not get excited about that?
Then you have this:

“Let heaven roar and fire fall.
Come shake the ground with the sound of revival.”

That is such a POWERFUL prayer. It’s asking God to make heaven audible. It’s asking God to send His Consuming Fire down so the ground will shake… But shake with what?

… with the sound of revival.

You know what that means? That means it’s asking God to fill us with His Consuming Fire so that the sound of His children being revived in Him will be loud enough to shake the world!

Revival:the growth of something or an increase in the activity of something after a long period of no growth or activity.

That lyric is praying for God to wake us up so that we will stop being okay with being still, so that we will stop accepting where we are in our faith journey as good enough. It’s not good enough! It may be good, but it’s never good enough. It’s time to stop settling. If we settle, we become quiet as mice when we should be roaring like lions. Now is the time to speak up and speak out about the glory of God. Talk about it. Talk about Him!

It’s time to TELL THE WORLD!

God bless,
Liz
